The Newest Avs Mascot: Bernie the St. Bernard!

First, let’s get all the obligitory St. Bernard jokes out of the way:

• The Avs are already in the doghouse, what better mascot than a St. Bernard?
• You know, the Avs have really driven me to drink lately, so a dog with booze around his neck is a perfect mascot.
• St. Bernards are really good at finding people who are buried, like the Avs are in the Western Conference standings.
• Great, one more Av that’s sure to leave more steaming piles of crap all over the ice.

Now that all that is out of our system, join me in welcoming Bernie, the newest member of the Avs. He probably has the biggest jersey size of the team, but Tucker still holds the honor of biggest head.

While he’s no Howler, the Avs have a solid (if not predictable) new mascot on their hands. I’m excited to see the team doing more in the way of fan interaction and Bernie really brings a lot of new opportunities this season.

So, on behalf of all the Avs fans, welcome! You’re already 1000 times better than Dinger.
