Even though the Avalanche found themselves not only outside of the playoff bubble, but also in the basement of the league, that wasn’t going to stop Colorado from getting involved in the first ever NHL Tweetup, happening all over the world. If Hartford, Seattle, and Belfast, Ireland can celebrate the start of the 2009 Stanley Cup Playoffs, why not us? We took over part of the Breckenridge Brewery Ballpark Pub just a couple blocks down from Coors Field (yeah we crashed the baseball district). About 20 people showed up, and after watching the Penguins beat the Flyers 4-1, the prizes started flowing. Here’s a photographic recap of the evening, taken by Michelle (@shellieshel).
