Hejduk and Smyth Net 300

Wins for the Avalanche are a treat this season. They’re sitting at 47 points, which is the worst in their division and 11th in their conference. Sunday’s win against the Flames was especially sweet, however, since both Milan Hejduk and Ryan Smyth scored their 300th career goals in a 6-2 rout.

“It definitely was a special night. It’s something I’ll remember for the rest of my life.” – Milan Hejduk

“It’s an honor to share it with Milan. It’s obviously special to not only play in this game, but to score that many goals is a great feeling.” – Ryan Smyth

Hejduk and Smyth became the second set of players to scored 300 in the same game, with Danny Gare and Ivan Boldirev of the Red Wings holding the honor of being the first. They scored their goals on February 26, 1983 against the Islanders.

The 300th goals for Hejduk and Smyth were their 15th and 16th of the year, respectively. Smyth currently leads the team in goals and points (36).
